Corporate Team Challenge Winners Named - 1 May 2014

They have not only won the RunBalmoral 2014 Stena Drilling - ConocoPhillips Corporate Team Challenge, but they might also have come up with the cleverest team name in the competition - we have great pleasure in confirming that the new champions are the COP's and Joggers squad from ConocoPhillips!

Their counters in the ConocoPhillips 5Km were Neil Emslie (36th), Mike Atkinson (40th), David Wilkinson (48th), pictured, and Mark Oatey (56th).

Neil also scored for the team in the Stena Drilling Tartan 10Km in which he finished 170th while Dan Pearce (28th), Jonathan Murray (79th) and Andrew Hutchison (159th) were the other members of the winning squad.

That gave them 616 points to dislodge Aberdeen Sports Village as holders of the impressive red deer antler and sycamore trophy for the coming year.

The Sports Village made an impressive attempt to defend their title with strong performances in the 5Km from
Scott Macdougall (15th), Gemma Cormack (18th), Fraser Mcgillivray (23rd) and David Beattie (28th), and in the 10Km in which Rowan Chilingworth (33), Scott Craig (163), Kieran Grant (240) and Joe Monteiro (247) were the counters, giving a total of 767 points.

Stuart Macdougall led Team PwC to third position when he finished eighth in the 10Km and he was backed up by Jacques van Oorschot (62), Jekaterina Petrova (135) and Paul Taylor (150). The PwC scorers in the 5Km were Michael Bruce (86), Sally Griffiths (131), Claire Philpott (172) and Hannah Knight (190), giving them a total of 934 points.

Great to see our hosts, Balmoral Estate, featuring so highly, while the We can't dance but we can run team might have to reconsider their name after only finishing sixth. The Gentle Joggers, by contrast, lived up to their name by finishing last.

Well done to everyone who participated. We apologise for the delay in announcing the winners. This was because we had to carefully scrutinise the results because one or two runners were originally missed out due to a problem with their chips.
