MPH PRIMARY SCHOOL 1.5k RACE Boys and Girls

All athletes must assemble at the placards corresponding to their age group, the eldest, Primary 7 at the front followed by Primary 6, Primary 5 then Primary 4 and below.

This is an H&S issue with the older, bigger children at the front and the smaller, younger children at the back.

You will all get an accurate time using the timing chip attached to their race number so that there is no need to barge to the front at the start.

After the warm up you will be brought forward to the line with the older runners at the front and younger runners at the back.

Please take care when crossing the mat on the start line in case it is wet and slippery. The chip time will not be activated until you cross the line. There will be a lead cyclist and two sweep runners

Please listen to the marshals instructions if any are given. If you feel ill, please stop and inform one of the marshals and you will be attended to

Once you have crossed the finishing line, please make your way to the exit funnel where you will receive a T shirt, goody bag and water. Then make your way to the exit to meet your family and friends

F.O.S. GROUP 2.5k SECONDARY SCHOOL RACE

CONOCOPHILLIPS 5K

There is a warm up in the field behind the Time recorders tent, this will commence at 12:15pm.

After the warm up, there are people with various finish time placards along the path towards the start, please line up beside the placards which is in line with your anticipated finish time.

Please take care crossing the start line across the mat, your time does not start until you cross the line, so there is no need for any pushing across the line.

There will be a lead vehicle and a sweep vehicle.

Please be aware of the underfoot conditions, there may be loose rocks and stones on the route,

Please also listen to any instructions given by the marshals, they are there to help you if required. If you take unwell or injure yourself, please inform a marshal so we can get help to you, or if you see someone else get into difficulties, please inform your nearest marshal. There are also First Aiders and Ambulance people on the route to help as necessary.

Once you have crossed the finishing line, we know you will be tired please make your way through to the exit funnel, help us keep the finish area clear for others crossing the finish line.

You will receive a T shirt and water. Then make your way to the exit to meet your family and friends, non-competitors will not be allowed into the finish area, as there is limited room.

STENA DRILLING TARTAN 10K

There are people with various finish time placards along the path towards the start, please line up beside the placards which is in line with your anticipated finish time.

Please take care crossing the start line across the mat, your time does not start until you cross the line, so there is no need for any pushing across the line.

There will be a lead vehicle and a sweep vehicle

Please be aware of the underfoot conditions, there will be loose rocks and stones on the route, also, for the less experienced, there is a steep hill around the 4-5K mark, so do not start off too quickly.

On the “hill” can runners keep right and walkers on the left please.

There is a watering station around the half way mark, please make use of this and keep hydrated. Do not throw any water bottles/debris into the grass or heather, drop them where you run where they will be visible and they will be picked up, or drop them off at a marshal point or any of the signposts

Please also listen to any instructions given by the marshals, they are there to help you if required. If you take unwell or injure yourself, please inform a marshal so we can get help to you, or if you see someone else get into difficulties, please inform your nearest marshal. There are also First Alders and Ambulance people on the route to help as necessary.

Once you have crossed the finishing line, we know you will be tired please make your way through to the exit funnel, help us keep the finish area clear for others crossing the finish line.

APOLLO DUATHLON

The route for this event is contained within Estate grounds. Runs 1 and 2 start and finish in the transition area on the gravel Target Walk.

All bikes are to be racked on the appropriate stand provided, they are numbered with the relevant race numbers, so please ensure they are racked correctly, failure to do so will result in disqualification.

It is essential that your bike is in excellent working order, please ensure you have checked your bike and it is in good condition.

On reaching transition after the cycle, you must dismount prior to entering the transition area. There will be a marshal to stop you for dismount, please obey the instruction

Please ensure when you are in transition and changing that all your belongings are kept at your rack number do not start running discarding clothing as you go along, you will be stopped and sent back to arrange your clothing appropriately.

Any Marshal instructions given within the transition area must be adhered to. Cyclist are to follow the Cyclist route arrows, with the runners following the run route arrows There will be some signs on the course which have a No 15 on them, they are for the 15 mile race.

Care must be taken on the course as there will be loose stones and stones which are protruding from the ground on the trails, special care must be taken (especially by the cyclists) on the sharp downhills and corners.

There are first aiders and ambulance staff at strategic points throughout the course. There are also a couple of safety Land Rovers along the course. Please obey any instructions from the marshals on the course as they are there to help you stay safe and keep you going in the right direction.

Once you have completed the race, your chip will be removed by the finish area helpers, please have patience and cooperate with them to complete this as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We have over 200 entrants taking part in this fantastic event, which will see you run and cycle around some of the most scenic areas of Balmoral Estate, please enjoy it and treat it with respect.

TRAC 15 MILE TRAIL RACE

The route for this race is contained within the Estate grounds. The race starts and finishes adjacent to the cricket ground at the Run-4-It Gantry.

There is a cut off time of 3 hours for the event, if you envisage you will take over that, please inform the Race Directors, you may be allowed to start earlier if you know the route. This may involve you running before all the marshals are in position.

If you are out on the course after 3 hours, you will be given the option to either stop and be transported back to the finish area or if you continue, you will be made aware that the marshals will be removed and you will have to make your own way back, this is because the marshals will be standing in exposed areas for over the 3 hours and it is not fair on them to be kept out longer than is necessary.

Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing to match the conditions, do not go out with a lack of clothing as there are some exposed areas on the route.
