Still Time to Enter Petrofac Challenge - 18 April 2011
Entries for the Petrofac multi-terrain half marathon will be taken on the day of the race, up to 30mins before the 11am start.
Almost 150 runners have already pre-registered for the inaugural running of this event, but organisers would be happy to see more people turning up for what prmises to be an exciting new addition to the Run Balmoral programme.
Great Britain junior hill running international Robbie Simpson (Deeside Runners) is among the leading entrants although he will be challenged by Highland Cross champion Alasdair Thomas (Fleet Feet Triathletes).
Former top internationals Graham Laing (Inverness Harriers) and Simon Axon (Hunters Bog Trotters) are also in the field.
Niku Millott (Metro Aberdeen) who has won the Dyce, Moray, Peterhead, Nairn,Glen Clova and Fraserburgh half marathons, should also feature at the head of the race.
Terry Christie (Peterhead Runing Club), Iain Grigor (Metro Aberdeen) and Donald Kerridge (Deeside Runners) should also be well to the fore.
Hill running specialist Ruth Mackenzie (Deeside Runners) is one of the top names in the women's race in which Gillian Carr (Corsorphine AAC), Louise Provan (Hunters Bog Trotters), Sarah Houston (Moray Road Runners) and Morag Taggart (Dundee Road Runners) are also expected to feature strongly.
