Mudblasters to hit Balmoral - 18 March 2014
Look out for the Ballater Mudblasters at RunBalmoral this year.
The Ballater School running club train twice a week and with their new training tops they are looking and feeling like a winning team.
The sky blue tshirts and racing vests were sponsored by several local village businesses, and the children also took part in a 15 minutes sponsored run to raise funds. Between the 20 members they helped to raise £350.
The Mudblasters competed in several cross country races throughout the winter and will be turning up in force at the Balmoral Road Races in April.
The youngsters will be well prepared as they are given regular coaching advice from Ballater's Scotland hill running internationals Clare and Dan Whitehead
Local bike shop, Bike Station Ballater, Hilton Craigendarroch Grand Vacations, and Victoria Week all contributed towards the Mudblasters' new tops, and all have shown continued support of the young runners.
Michael Coletta of Hilton Grand Vacations said: “We are delighted to support the Mudblasters through our Hilton in the Community Foundation. The Foundation works to help as many young people as possible in areas such as health and education. Running is a great way to help build self-confidence, deliver a sense of accomplishment and develop an understanding of short and long-term goal setting…and it’s great fun! Therefore when Ballater Primary School approached us, we were more than happy to support our local school children and I’m really looking forward to seeing the Mudblasters in action!”
